Underground Ortigia: the Giudecca, ritual baths and hypogea

Descend 48 steps into the Mikveh, walled up in 1492 and rediscovered 500 years later. The route crosses three underground levels — a crypt, an air-raid shelter and a Greek well — and includes two Jewish ritual baths. It ends at the Fountain of Arethusa, where the same spring water resurfaces.
