About Pompeii
Pompeii is not a ruin you glance at from a bus window — it is a Roman town you walk through, street by street, with frescoed houses, bakeries and bathhouses still standing. The best-rated guides here turn that walk into a story, whether you join the Pompeii: 2h Small-Group Tour with Expert Archaeologist or go deeper on a private itinerary such as the Pompeii Private Tour with Authorized Guide: A Journey into Roman Life.

Frequently asked questions
The highest-rated tours here are led by archaeologists or authorized guides who explain daily Roman life rather than reciting dates. Travellers consistently praise small groups, clear storytelling and well-paced routes through the Forum, houses and baths. Private formats and longer itineraries that include Herculaneum or Vesuvius also score highly.
