Kochkurs in Testaccio: Cacio e Pepe, Amatriciana und Carbonara

Andrea was a wonderful host! He shared so much of the history and strategies for making pasta, including the best ingredients and alternatives if and when necessary. We were a smaller group than normal which allowed him to go in greater depth and even show a few extra techniques. Getting to learn and experience this class inside of their home was such a special experience. We can’t wait to practice the techniques when we return home. Would highly recommend!

We loved this experience! Andrea and his wife were like family to us, teaching insider tricks to make high quality pastas and sauces to match. Their love for preparing and cooking pasta was evident. Their lifelong experiences infused their teaching. Patient and calm even when we made errors, their tutoring helped us remember and follow sound instruction. Three hours flew by and we were able to enjoy the fruits of our labor! It tased superior to what we thought had been a few incredible pasta meals around Rome. Nope, this was our best meal by miles! Thank you Andrea! We were blown away by your sensibility and experience. We loved it!

Es war ein genialer Abend mit einem echten älteren römischen Ehepaar Es wurde alles sehr verständlich erklärt und gezeigt. Besonders schön war der Stromausfall im ganzen Haus. Dann wurden viele Kerzen angezündet und gekocht wurde eh mit Gas. Möwen platzierten sich im 6. Stock auf der Fensterbank und schauten uns beim Pasta zubereiten zu. Ein unvergesslicher Abend

This was a fun experience from start to finish! Andrea welcomed us into his home, where he began by teaching us how to make a basic pasta dough and turn it into rigatoni and spaghetti, offering many tips and tricks to guarantee success when we try it at home. He then explained and showed us in detail how to create three of the four classic Roman sauces (cacio e pepe, amatriciana and carbonara). Once the cooking portion of the class was finished, we enjoyed a delicious meal of our three pasta dishes and a wonderful homemade dessert. As a bonus, we got to meet Andrea’s very friendly dog! All in all a top notch experience!

My friend and I had a lovely evening learning all about making pasta hands on! All the tips and tricks to getting the best out of our pasta were great and so helpful. It was also fascinating to see how three different traditional sauces can be made and they tasted delicious! The set up felt like we were at our grandparents house - it was a lovely evening and I would recommend it to anyone coming to Rome. A bonus was patting their adorable and the possibly best fed dog in the world.
