Florenz: Chianti E-Bike-Tour mit Mittagessen & Zwei Weinproben

Our guide was excellent. The group of people we rode with her friendly and wonderful. The route we took was interesting beautiful, and the Guide stopped at points of interest and explain the surrounding area to us. He did an excellent job. The tour of the winery was interesting. The food was a bit mediocre. The wine was good. Overall, we had a great time!

Route ging 80% over doorgaande wegen waar ook auto's (hard) reden. Gids lette niet goed op of de groep kon volgen en is daardoor 2 keer de helft van de groep kwijtgeraakt. Vertelde onderweg ook weinig. Lunch was zeer eenvoudig en niet bijzonder smakelijk. 2e 'wijnproeverij' was 1 glas wijn zonder uitleg bij een tentje in de buurt van de fietsenhangar. Het personeel was vriendelijk maar de beleving kon beter!

This was a great trip by e-bike to spend a little time outside the city. There were lots of hills and beautiful scenery the entire ride. It did not have a lot of stops though, it was more of a bike tour with wine than a wine tour with bikes. I would still highly recommend for those who want to spend some time exploring. We spent about 6-7 hours out all together.

Andrea our guide was fantastic - very knowledgeable and friendly. Dealt very well and sympathetically when one of the group had difficulties. This is more a cycling tour than a wine tasting tour - parts of it were a reasonable effort even on an e bike and some of the cycling is on relatively busy roads. The lunch and wine tasting at the vineyard were very good, but the second stop back in town seemed like a filler - a plate of fruit and a glass of wine without any commentary.

Fun day however please note that the self guided tour is basically a bike rental. Only checkpoints are provided that you need to follow on your own maps application. There is no route to follow so I do not know if I took the best routes for cycling or simply the most direct route chosen by Apple Maps. Also note that the route we took was on roads with vehicle traffic.

First off Marco was excellent (10/10 guide) and the views and route was amazing. You need to be physically fit to do a bike route like this, you can’t expect the e-bike to push you the whole way. At the beginning of the experience, bike handles should have been adjusted to fit the rider, it shouldn’t have been a “choose whatever bike you like” situation. Maybe we’re just bike snobs? But with a 50km bike ride you need to be properly fitted and comfortable. Felt like the second wine stop could have been cut altogether and just allowed the time for us to sight see more at some viewpoints that we just zipped right past. Also… the insurance they get you to give them as a deposit for 200E makes no sense especially when they don’t even know what bike you had or check it when you get back. We were sure to take pictures. They should be writing down the numbers of the bike with each person. Overall experience 7/10.

We had an amazing time on the 6 hour Chianti E-bike tour with Marco. He was an excellent guide. We rode 10 minutes through Florence at the beginning which was the worst part with the traffic. After that there were lots of villages and beautiful views. We rode to Lanciola winery and had a nice tour and tasting then a pasta lunch (not sure if they always go to the same winery). Even with it being an E-bike , it is a lot of biking so if you’re not used to biking and want to be able to walk the next day this may not be for you. We loved it! Thank you Marco for a fantastic day!
