Firenze: Tour Guidato del Duomo Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore

Iulia was our guide, she was excellent, pleasure to be with, knowledgeable and not rushed. We enjoyed a free upgrade to the whole tour which proved invaluable. The App itself is excellent, lots of updates, personal communication via WhatsApp, and the find location option (via pin drop on google maps) took us straight to where Iulia was. (The other guests used Kyack, the location was wrong and they were promised extras that were not on this tour) So please we found the app!

Firstly, no skip the line tickets, which we paid for. However, we were first to enter, so no complaints. Secondly, GYG failed to get tickets for the Baptistry & Museum, although it was included with our package. The guide phoned GYG while we were waiting in line and was told it was a mistake, too late to do anything about it. Thirdly, the female guide was really disappointing. Perhaps it is that we have become used to a high standard of GYG guides? The issue was her clear disinterest in the tour and her inability to answer questions from our group. She just shied away from answering and deflected questions by giving silly answers. She also discouraged the group from visiting the Baptistry. Although the ceiling was apparently covered due to renovations, we expected the guide to make up for this by giving info on the building, its history etc. She was clearly annoyed at having to accompany the remaining members of our group who were not discouraged by her lack of enthusiasm!
