On the whole the day was Amazing, transport and Pompeii its self was an amazing experience, unfortunately the guide was insistent we visited the Tiberius hotel for a meal when the vast majority wanted a quick drink and return to their respective resorts. Shame really she was a very knowledgeable and informative guide but it was blatantly obvious she was on commission for her hotel visit, totally bypassing the opportunity for visits to the souvenir vendors.

Alessandra, our tour guide was amazing! We were a smaller group (12,) so she gave us extra time and attention. She knows so much history behind Pompeii that her stories and facts were very interesting and fun. Be sure to go in the morning as it was getting pretty hot by mid-day. Claudio, our driver was awesome! Driving a big bus on those narrow streets of the Amalfi region definitely takes a tremendous amount of skill! We would definitely recommend this tour!

I have to say this trip was a little disappointing. We only saw one of the 900 plaster casts. It was pouring with rain the day of our trip and some guests were not dressed for such weather so our host cut things short and took us to a nearby restaurant for lunch. A set meal of 20Euros each. After paying such a lot of money for a family of 4 this wasn’t really what we wanted and would have much preferred to see Pompeii which was after all what we had paid to see.
