J’étais prévenu, l’offre est à la limite de l’arnaque. On ne vous donne aucune information sur le fait qu’il s’agit simplement d’une Application que vous devez installer avant de vous rendre sur place, car il n’y a pas de réseau sur le Vésuve. Cela m’a simplement permis de trouver des billets sur le créneau horaire que je souhaitais ( réservation faite le soir pour le lendemain matin). Privilégiez le site officiel du parc, vous paierez moins cher. Ticket de parking à prendre en ligne, sur un autre site officiel.

We knew in advance we were buying an inflated “access ticket” only, as these companies buy-up the tickets before most of us even think about buying direct. We are left with no option but to use these companies to enjoy this great experience. It was unclear on the tickets would be received be it electronic or in person at the entrance and was worried when lost internet coverage on the car/shuttle journey up. Fortunately able to access the Free Vesuvius WIFI and the tickets came through electronically just ahead of our time slot and worked fine. However, the supposed Audio guide is a mere justification for charging an inflated entrance fee and theyhope everyone thinks the link to the audio guide doesn’t work due to the internet coverage. Don’t be fooled by this blatant misrepresentation though ironically we were not interested in the audio guide and was happy to pay a premium at a still acceptable price to enjoy this memorable experience. The 2 star rating is for them not being honest

In an ideal world, you would buy the entrance ticket from the official webpage. This service does not provide any added value, just the price is much higher. Except that at the official website, the tickets disappear almost immediately. It seems like a deal to favor the resellers. The tickets were sent to us at the last possible moment. So we had to connect to the Wifi at the gate on the Vesuvius itself (luckily there is one) and download the tickets there. It worked in the end but what if the Wifi was broken? Or I was out of battery? To go up, you have to walk on the road. It is only about 30 minutes but not very pleasant. Why couldn't there be a footpath? Or take a shuttle bus. The views from the rim are nice but not exceptional. It is crowded. And at the time of our visit, part of the way was closed, we could not walk around, only there and back. If you want to tick a box, go for it. But if you skip it, you will not miss much. If you go, dress warmly, the wind can be strong.
