Pass OPA SI per il Complesso del Duomo di Siena: Esplora con Audioguida Digitale

It has been my lifelong dream since high school to stand inside Siena Cathedral: Stendhal syndrome hit me full force! The floor mosaics are so expressive. The rediscovered frescoes in the crypt too: people could already paint optimistic crucifixion scenes back in the 13th century! Far more beautiful than St. Peter's Basilica to me, and much quieter! Deducting 1 star because booking online was mega-complicated. You receive a confirmation email, but that isn't enough. To download the actual ticket you need an app, but it wouldn't install. I had to request a link through the help center first. Then you still have to exchange the ticket for a real paper ticket at the visitor center. My tip: just walk into the visitor center on the piazza in person (not the ticket office with the long line). You'll get straightforward, multilingual assistance there. Unfortunately, I've been spammed with ads ever since the online purchase.

Easy and fast online purchase when the lines at the ticket office were really long. You pick up the tickets at a guest center close to the main square in Siena. Tickets worked everywhere as expected. Audioguide was one of the best in our 14 day Italy trip. Clear, factual, well laid out. The Complex is remarkable and shouldn't be missed. Don't skip the library inside the cathedral. Allow time for a line from the top floor of the museum to the bell tower. The views are worth it.

We were given a ticket at cathedral ticket office that was only good for the cathedral and we did not realize it until we tried to enter the baptistry. We were told there to go back to the ticket office. We did go back and after 10 minutes of discussion, they gave us tickets to baptistry and the crypt. Not really sure why there was a mixup to start with.
