Great trip, less chaotic than Pompeii

If you want a more intimate look at Roman life without walking miles in the sun, this is it. The ruins are compact but packed with details like intact second stories. The round-trip shuttle was smooth, though I wish we had just 30 extra minutes to browse the gift shop at the end.

Herculaneum blew me away with its vivid frescoes. This transfer ticket combo makes the trip effortless since the archaeological site is tucked deep inside the modern town. The timed entry entry meant no waiting around under the midday sun.

The ruins themselves are easily 5 stars—the multi-story houses are phenomenal. The timed entry process went smoothly. However, keep a close eye on your watch because the return transport leaves exactly on time, and you don't want to get left behind in the town.

The condition of the houses here dwarfs Pompeii. You can still see charred wooden beams and furniture! The timed ticket worked perfectly, and having the round trip transit waiting for us eliminated all the stress of traveling back.
