From Taormina: Valley of the Temples & Piazza Armerina by Coach

A very good trip. It would have helped us and another couple if the instructions had included a recommendation to have CASH for the tour guide to buy all the entry tickets. We only just managed to scrape together the required money. Plus the driver was reluctant to turn on the air conditioning in the coach. But overall a very enjoyable trip.

The trip itself was most interesting and I loved seeing the temples. The visit to the mosaics was disappointing because our guide did not escort us on this part of the trip which meant we missed a lot of the story behind the mosaics. I could not find the entry to exhibition so waste of time. Biggest issue was the guide who expected us to sit and be quite. I refused to be given a row for chatting quietly to my friend in the next seat. Her attitude spoiled the trip

Tenendo conto dei costi extra da considerare (come i biglietti di ingresso), per il resto l’organizzazione del tour è stata impeccabile. La nostra guida Renate è stata semplicemente eccezionale: competente, disponibile e capace di arricchire l’esperienza con spiegazioni coinvolgenti. L’organizzazione Sat Escursioni è stata magnifica, ben bilanciata tra visite, tempi di pausa e rispetto degli orari, senza mai risultare faticosa. La Valle dei Templi è un’esperienza meravigliosa, che da sola vale il viaggio: un luogo ricco di storia, fascino e bellezza che ci ha lasciati senza parole. Una giornata davvero ben spesa, che ci ha permesso di godere appieno di ogni momento

The two locations of the tour are an absolute must see, it was absolutely incredible to get to see both amazing relics of history in one day. The day is long and we had packed lunch not realising we'd be taken to a restaurant, which we kind of felt obliged to eat in despite it not having anything our youngest would eat which was a shame. The guide was great, speaking in 3 languages is never easy and answering questions being fired at you in all 3 at random can't have been a walk in the park but she really handled it well. I had enquired in advance about toilet facilities on board and was told there would be none, yet there was clearly a toilet on the coach, seems weird to have one but not permit usage, especially as the trip had mostly older people on it (and in our case, 2 young children!)
