From Taormina: Palermo and Cefalù Day Trip

Es war sehr gut organisiert und die Reiseleiterin Renata hat einen unglaublich tollen Job gemacht. Es war lehrreich und interessant … und gleichzeitig aber auch ein voll ausgefüllter, strenger Tag. Renata hat uns während der Fahrt immer wieder „aufgedatet“ mit Informationen aus der entsprechenden Region und es war damit sehr unterhaltsam und lehrreich. Einziger kleiner Wermutstropfen: Der Bus, grundsätzlich gut ausgestattet, hatte ein Klopfen auf dem Dach, das auf den holprigen Strassen sehr störend gewirkt hat und über die vielen Stunden Fahrzeit unangenehm war. Leider hat der Chauffeur die Sache überhaupt nicht ernst genommen.

Excellent! La visite de Palermo - bien que courte - permet d'avoir une très belle appréciation globale de la partie historique. En plus nous avons pu visiter, avec le billet coupe-file, la cathédrale et l'église de la Martorana. Notre guide Renàta (agence SAT) était parfaite, excelente organisatrice, attentive à tous, à l'écoute et adaptable. À recommander!!!

Bus 30mins late picking up. Had an new guide in Palermo. He needed a microphone so all group could hear him, but very knowledgable where we went. Then on to Cefalu went to Cathederal, and had free time. We had to meet back at bus. We lost our way asked directions but nobody knew where it was. Eventually found road up hill to parking place. I rushed ahead and was 5minutes late and bus was ready to leave. Guide told me they could not wait for others as the Police had been there 3 times to move them on as it was on road. Friend caught me up and heard about them leaving our group behind. I PANICKED about being left behind. I said I woud see where other 2 were. Guide got back on bus ready to leave, but my friend stood outside bus so they would not go without us. Had to asisst one friend as she was having breathing problems as walking up hill and rushed them back to bus. I told the guide that my friend was not well. I apolagised to bus driver for being late. Bus left 10minuates late.

Im writing to express my dissatisfaction with tour to Palermo July11.Due to an accident on the road we were delayed for about 30min.The guide Renata rushed through the rest of the tour likely trying to make up for the lost time.Unfortunately instead of adjusting the schedule to enjoy the sites,she shortened the expeirence ana created a tense hurried atmosphere throught the day.There was no effort made to make tje group feel comfortable pr relaxed,and we were left feeling stressed rather than inspired.As a regular travelers who always use GetYour Guide,this was disappointing experienc3 -unlike any we've had before.We beli ethe guide could have extended the tour slightly to make up for the delay,or at the very least ensured that the group still had the time to properly enjoy destinations.Thank you for your attention to this matter.I hope you will take this feedback seriously and ensure future travelers receive the quality experience that GetYour Guide is known for.Sincerely, Emilija.

The transport and getting to see these places was good. However, the overall experience left a bit to be desired. We arrived at the meeting point at 6:15 as instructed and thought we were scammed because the bus did not arrive until 6:30 due to other pickup spots before. Had we known this, it would have been fine, however, the instructions had no indication . Additionally, once we arrived in Palermo, we had a local guide taking us around which was nice. The frustrating part is that 5 guests only spoke Italian and 4 only German, meaning everything had to be said 3 times at each location on the tour. The guide was doing her best to manage this situation, however, it was frustrating to have so much waiting. After the tour portion, I honestly would have preferred to be able to explore Palermo independently rather than going on the tour. Cefalu was lovely & I was happy to get to these places for a reasonable price but would have appreciated knowing this in advance

If your goal is just to see as many cities of Sicily in a short stay from taormina , with this tour you can cross out two of them. Not such a good idea in hot summer day though. In palermo we saw two main churches and the market while in cefalu you have only an hour free time. I would recommend relaxing in the beach nearby. It is a long drive and a bit tiring .

Het leukst was het om 2 verschillende steden te zien op Sicilië. Maar ik vond het jammer dat je de hele dag moest opschieten en op de tijd moest letten. Dat is natuurlijk geen vakantie gevoel. Er was erg weinig tijd om zelf rond te lopen. Ook was de groep erg groot waardoor er totaal geen persoonlijk contact was met de gids. Wat ook erg vervelend was, was dat er tijdens de lange busritten maar weinig gestopt werd voor een toiletpauze.

We had a beautiful drive with fantastic scenery both there and back. Palermo was very busy but we walked around the churches and markets and saw the wonderful architecture. Renate our guide was friendly, informative and very patient! We had a lovely if tiring day and were grateful for Angelo’s exceptional driving skills. We would definitely recommend this tour.
