Cooking Class & Dinner in Rome's Jewish Ghetto

Great enthoustiastic team. Great info, mood and tips from Andy and LIsa (sorry if I dont remember properly the names :s) and that's cool to have the chef checking and giving feedbacks. Maybe could have been a bit more hands on (for me :) regarding the frying for example but this was already a great experience. And that's amazing that we can really go to the kitchen of a restaurant after the main service. Thank you guys, really recommend!

I had the absolute pleasure of attending an Italian cooking class at Taverna Del Ghetto. It was such a memorable experience from start to finish. Lilli is not only an incredible instructor but also warm, patient, and truly passionate about Italian history, culture and cuisine. Her guidance made the entire process approachable and fun. Andy, who assisted throughout the class, was also fantastic—always there with helpful tips, a kind word, and an extra set of hands when needed. Together, Lilli and Andy created an atmosphere that was welcoming, relaxed, and full of laughter. We were also lucky to be joined by the Chef whose insights added an extra layer of authenticity to the class. It really felt like being invited into a family kitchen in Italy. By the end of the class, not only had we created delicious pasta dishes from scratch, but we also shared a beautiful meal and great conversation. I walked away feeling confident to try it all again at home. Grazie Mille, Lilli and team!

It was perfection. The guide Lili gave us a great tour of the ghetto before the main event. Dai, the cooking class was so fun. We made pasta with an old crank machine. We were able to go into the kitchen with the chef and learned the secret of cacio e pepe. we had wine, our pasta, typical artichokes and zucchini blossoms (which we had made earlier). THEN we had a flightof desserts. Just a wonderful thing to do in Florence.

This is a “Must Do” experience. Yes, we learned how to make (and then eat) divinely delicious food.. (plus wine and daily home made desserts) and you can take that skill and easy to replicate menu home with you.! As important you will take home the genuine love, joy, and generosity of your host and the Chef. Wine, food, new friends…whether by yourself or your special someone… do not leave Rome without doing this.

This could not have been a more perfect evening in the Jewish Ghetto! HIGHLY recommended. Clelia is a wonderful tour guide - she is knowledgable, patient, friendly, and sincere. Chef Gabriel is passionate, patient, full of fun and enthusiasm and so very generous in opening up his fabulous restaurant, Tavorna al Ghetto, to this cooking class. My 2 teens, aged 13 and 15, rated this their absolute HIGHLIGHT of our entire trip to Italy. It's a wonderful way to directly interact with the local community, learn about the food and culture, and a nice break from visiting museums and monuments. Grazie Mil to Chef Gabriel and his staff at Tavorna al Ghetto, Clelia and Gourmetaly - an incredible forever memory for our entire family!!
