Cinque Terre & Pisa Day Trip from Florence

Was very unhappy with the lack of information regarding where this trip went. Asked multiple times in advance. It doesn’t go to one of the five villages. It starts in levanto. We were trying to make plans to hike that fit the limited time parameters and we were given the wrong information. Felt like a bait and switch. Guide on the bus was super nice and super helpful (Sandro) but be aware if you’re doing transportation only. Levanto isn’t mentioned anywhere as a stop or a destination.

Es un timo. Te venden un viaje en el que te dicen que te llevan a pueblos y no es así. Te cobran 60€ por persona por un traslado en autocar, ese es el servicio. Desde el principio fue un fiasco. Estuvimos esperando 1 hora a que llegara el autocar y ni se disculparon. Luego nos dejaron en una estación de tren donde o comprábamos billetes de tren o no veíamos la zona. Los que habían contratado el viaje en ferry tuvieron que ir en tren (bastante más barato). La guía no era guía y pasaba de todo.

The tour guide doesn’t tell you that the train back to meeting point arrives every 30 min although going to the different villages the trains are coming every few minutes. We arrived 30min early only to miss the train by 1min, so we had to catch the next train. We tried to contact the crew via the number they provided (via WhatsApp and international roaming) only to get the tour department who said they would reach out but never called us back. When we do reach them they say our tour left and we should figure out ourselves. We had to figure out our way back on our own via multiple last minute train ticket purchases.

We got the transfer only option. It’s really not worth it as it’s so much more expensive than getting the train. The description said we would get a local map but weren't given one so the only benefit compared to getting the train was some spoken info given by the tour guide on the bus. Also the tour lasted 11.5h not 12.5h as stated. We had planned our time in Cinque Terre based on a 12.5h itinerary so it was a bit rushed losing an hour. So yeah it’s better to get the train from Florence to La Spezia, then use the Cinque Terre train pass to get from La Spezia to the villages. It’s really easy.
