Great experience, highly recommend it! Our Driver and Flora who look after us during the trip were great, always on time and helpful. Guides in Pompei and Herculaneum, Roberta and Mina very knowledgeable and nice. I loved the experience, learnt so much, we are very very grateful for organising such a great trip!

Had booked on the tour for under 8 people with a pick up from our apartment however the day before they had not had enough people booked on it so it was changed to the 18 person tour and we had to meet at a hotel 20 mins walk away. Although it seemed inconvenient it was fine. We only had 13 on our tour in the end and it didn’t spoil anything. Both the guides at Pompeii (sorry forgot her name young Pompei lady) and Herculaneum (Mina)were passionate and highly knowledgeable. It was so worth booking in advance as they have approx 20,000 a day there. We walked straight through the gates with no queuing. Although you could have spent hours there if you went on your own, with a guide it meant you actually did not walk around aimlessly not knowing what you were doing. Our headphones with our guide were invaluable. We booked on the inclusive lunch as it was def worth it. Bruschetta, tomato pasta and lemon tiramisu. All Simple but tasty foods.

Tours were very informative. Makes for a very long day. Make sure you wear the right kind of shoes. It is very easy to twist an ankle or trip. Also, there should be more pick-up/drop-off options for the transportation.

Overall it was a great setup: we were picked up at a set place, taken to Pompeii, issued a guide (Mario), then, after a lunch break, taken to Herculaneum, issued a guide (Dario) and then taken back to Naples. It worked like clockwork, so no complaints. My only regret was that we didn't spend a bit more time in Pompeii; we didn't see the actual baths, or more villas, and only saw one plaster cast (as far as I know there are several places to see them). A visit to the Antiquarium would have been great too. Having said that, I do understand that visiting both sites in one day requires complex arrangements. A special thanks to Lorenzo (I hope I remember the name right!) who picked us up and provided the commentary on the way to and between the sites, and to Patty who drove us around. We didn't order lunch, opting instead for a meal at one of the restaurants in the main square. The lady who travelled with us said the set menu was very good.
