Dolomites, Lake Misurina and Cortina Day Trip from Venice

The scenery was beautiful. However, our guide Francesco was recklessly driving and was inappropriate with his conduct. He was insistent on us giving him five star reviews to the point where we knew he knew he gave a poor tour. All he kept on doing was asking us about our personal lives and kept on bringing up “sugar mommies” and “sugar daddies”- my wife was disgusted and so was I.

To me the money alone was worth the hours of scenic drives. The driver/tour guide was great he spoke to us at each location giving tidbits of fun information about each site. Overall we saw 2 Lakes, the Cortina town, and 4 scenic spots for photos (2 on the way up and 2 on the journey back). I felt the timing was good with the 2hrs at Lake Misurina fitting well, we left right as a summer storm was starting to shower down! Just a note I misunderstood and thought the cable car/lift at Lake Misurina was €70 so I didn't go look but it was actually €17 I'd recommend you go up. All in all a very easy trip.

Diego is an experience tour guide and was super helpful. He provided ample background information of each location we had been to. Our tour was supposed to be a 6-person tour, however, only me and my partner showed up. So this accidentally became a private tour! ✨ Because of this, Diego let us choose the itinerary of the whole day. It was a super sunny day and we decided to visit the scenery parts of the Dolomites first, and then return to Cortina in the afternoon. The views were amazing and couldn’t be described in words! Diego gave us enough time to explore everywhere and brought us to some small spots for photos, which usually wouldn’t stop by in a group tour. By the end of the trip, we really wanted to trip the authentic gelato in Longarone (the land of Artisan ice cream), and he managed to find us a shop to try that on! (it was a Sunday and lots of shops were closed!) We enjoyed our time in Dolomites and with Diego. Thanks for the experience, Diego! :)

The day trip was a really enjoyable day out filled with plenty of beautiful sites of the mountains and the lakes. The tour guide was happy and friendly and ensured all participants were taken care of throughout the day whilst engaging all as a group and individually. Plenty of time was given to take in the beautiful sites and although it did rain it did not halt or hinder the trip in anyway with the guide taking into consideration what the group wanted from the trip I was a solo traveler on my first solo trip and I would encourage anyone, by themselves or in a group to go on this wonderful day out because the guide ensured everyone was a part of the journey in every way
