Taormina: Guided Kayak Tour to Isola Bella and Blue Grotto

Lo definirei piú un noleggio kayak con escursione in gruppo, la guida non ci ha dato una minima informazione di nessun luogo visitato, sempre in silenzio e per niente coinvolgente, niente a che vedere con le guide professionali che abbiamo avuto in altri tour. Salva l’escursione lo spettacolare panorama delle grotte e dell’isola bella, sosta bagno molto frettolosa nel tornare al punto di partenza. Non rifarei questa esperienza.

My husband and I booked this to see Isola Bella and get out on the water. The meeting point was easy to find and the location has lockers available as well as changing facilities and a toilet. The guide was very friendly. The swimming spot is beautiful! much nicer to experience it from a Kayak as the beach itself was heaving so we got to explore with alot of freedom. The booking did confuse us slightly saying we will end the tour at the desitantion- it is in fact a circular tour so you kayak out and then back, which was a relief.

The scenery during the tour was absolutely stunning – definitely 5 stars for that! Unfortunately, the guide was very disappointing. There was no greeting, no introduction, and no safety briefing. He didn’t ask if anyone was kayaking for the first time and gave no tips at all. The guide always paddled in front – he may be good at kayaking, but he is definitely not a good guide. He only waited for the fastest participants, and difficult passages were not mentioned in advance. At the swimming stop he just said: “Here you can swim.” After only 5–10 minutes he simply started paddling again – before everyone was even back in their kayaks. While the last participants were still climbing into their boats, he was already out of sight. When he explained something about the caves, he spoke so quietly that only those directly next to him could hear. In the end, it felt like renting a kayak on our own would have given us the exact same experience – just cheaper.

Very chill excursion (vibes-wise - the actual kayaking required effort!) We were a group of four (two pairs) and the guide. Enjoyable experience kayaking from Giardini Naxos to Isola Bella. Opportunity to get out and swim at Isola Bella. Enjoyable experience. Would recommend getting the bus if you’re coming from Taormina as the walk down is long.

Terrible! Moved activity 1 hour earlier than booked - then didn’t show up! After 30mins text to say they were on their way. At 1 hour late they text to cancel. Wanted us come back the next day. But taxis cost 30 euro per trip so 60 for cancelled activity and they would not refund travel cost for our wasted trip. Poor service. Would not recommend at all!
