Catania: Volcanic Wine Tasting in a Metropolitan Market

We recently went to a wine tasting, and overall, it was a lovely experience! 🍷 The wines were fantastic and the tasting itself was well put together. That said, we did feel that the wait times between each pour were a bit too long — especially since the restaurant wasn’t very full. We were hoping for a more personal, guided experience, but at times we were left waiting and wondering when the next wine would come. A little more interaction or a smoother flow between tastings would make a big difference. The ambience was okay, but we think some background music would help set the vibe and make the atmosphere feel more inviting. 🎶 All in all, we had a great time and definitely recommend the tasting — just a few small tweaks could take it from good to amazing!

The best part of the experience was the delicious wine and great snacks….. We were hoping for a little more chat about the wine in the beginning it was a little shaky, but it improved greatly with an experienced person who knew his wines. The evening started very slow and delayed, felt underwhelming, but we were sat with some interesting people and ended up having a great, drunken night. The setting was fabulous and we would definitely recommend. Overall a great evening.

Well, generally if not the other guests who were along with me this would have been less for the evaluation. Firstly, the waiters were having hard time to talk about the wine in English, this was notable when was some of the ingredients of the food were named in Italian instead of English (Miele -> honey). Also, the waiters had difficulties opening the bottles, notably first waiter that greet us. I can imagine stress and being in his place, but some professionalism would be expected. Lastly, the event has started late, approximately 15-20min late of the initially planned time. So, I really hope the staff will improve and by no means I’m saying they were doing poorly but some practice would be better

The tasting was a great start to my visit to Cataina! had 4 wines with little snacks that paired with the wine. the wines were nice & the guide was knowledgeable about the wines even had a little diagram to show us which areas the wine came from. location was very nice and many restaurants around so you can grab a proper bite to eat after easily
