Colosseum Arena Guided Tour with Optional Underground Access

I was booking thinking the underground option was available but at no time did the booking process tell me it wasn’t available. Apparently full!!!! This should be made clear at time of booking. Also my time was changed by 1 1/2 hrs, the reason being there were too many people in the coliseum at that time. I would say don’t offer tickets at that time if they aren’t available. Two reasons why I would have stopped and booked elsewhere. Then our slot was overbooked and there was a kerfuffle to get us all in. Not professional.

Tour guide was nice and friendly however, we spent 30 minutes standing inside the entrance of the Colosseum looking at a picture book before seeing the interior. The guided tour only lasted until the arena floor, then we were able to explore the other level ourselves which was the best bit. The meet up point was easy to find and we did get exactly what we had paid for. Overall, I would recommend buying tickets through the offical Colosseum website and not bothering with a tour guide.

Contraté un tour guiado en español por el coliseo y foro romano por 176€, Nada más hablar con la guía, nos comenta (a mi pareja y a mi) que hay un problema y es que no hay guías que hablen español, que como solución podemos escuchar con una app una especie de audio guía (con nuestro móvil y auriculares), y que podíamos entrar con ellos pero luego hacerlo por nuestra cuenta. Total, que he pagado un dineral para que nos dejen tirados, no entender nada y hacerlo por nuestra cuenta. Fatal, no lo recomiendo para nada. Mejor cogerlo por vuestra parte

The tour guide was only present to give us our tickets, help us to download the app and give us a lot of instructions verbally. It would have been far more consumer friendly to give us a clearly printed out set of instructions. Our Tour Guide was pleasant and helpful for the short time we had contact with her. Once again the app on my phone ran down my phone battery during the audio for Palatine Hill section of the day and when it got to the Colosseum I had very little battery left. The audio didn’t work for the Colosseum and because we were given all instructions at once in the morning we had no idea about where and what we were doing when we got into the Colosseum. Having said all of that both the Colleseum and Paletine Hill was fantastic.
