Rome Highlights Tour for Cruise Passengers from Civitavecchia

Claudio our guide was great. no English but used a translator app to interact which was fine and worked well. picked up and dropped off right outside the ship so no worries about location. was a full 8 hrs but he was well aware of the ships docking times. I would recommend it if you want to see as many landmarks as you can in about 5 hrs as transfer is about 1:15 each way, more if traffic. if you want to hit and stay at attractions longer this is not for you. 20-40 mins at each of the 5-6 stops. this is a taster tour. and it does make you want to do a long weekend. Claudio's knowledge of the city streets was awesome. like a London cabbie. you would not get this from hop on hop off trips. he got us to within a 100m of each location and waited. also some of the group wanted a restaurant which he organised as well for our lunchtime stop of 1hr. mini van was good Aircon was good road were terrible very bumpy. we really enjoyed it and it definitely delivered everything we wanted. spot on.

Leider war diese Tour deutlich schlechter organisiert als erwartet. Die Abholung beim Schiff war chaotisch, unser Fahrer kaum zu finden, nur eine allgemeine Hotline als Kontakt – wir starteten mit 25 Minuten Verspätung. Auf die Frage, ob wir etwas über Rom und die Päpste hören möchten, meinte unser Fahrer nur "bla bla bla" und hat während der ganzen Fahrt komplett auf Erklärungen verzichtet. Beim Mittagessen wurden wir ohne Alternative in ein festgelegtes Restaurant gebracht, der Service war unfreundlich und gehetzt. Auch bei den Stopps war unklar, wie viel Zeit wir hatten. Ein fahrtfremder Fahrgast bestimmte offenbar die Länge der Stopps – am Ende gab es sogar einen Umweg zu seinem Hotel, auf Kosten unserer Zeit. Zurück waren wir viel früher als angekündigt. Rom selbst ist beeindruckend, die Organisation dieser Tour können wir aber nicht empfehlen.

We were a party of 4. Picked up outside ship. Picked up another 4 passengers.Marcello was our driver hw was great. All our stops were really close to the main attractions. Just the right amount of time at each venue. Stopped for lunch . Back to ship with plenty time before sailing. Overall we got to see the main highlights of Rome well worth booking highly recommended 👌

Great communication up to and during our trip. All instructions were concise and everything was done punctually and efficiently. Stefano our tour guide was exceptional! Extremely friendly, he was knowledgeable, informative and very customer focused - particularly on those passengers with additional needs. We can't thank him enough and would strongly recommend him.

Trip went well. We were picked up right in front of the ship. The driver was nice and spoke enough English to get the job done. The driver knew all the tight spots to squeeze into to get us close to the attractions. Traffic was crazy in the beginning of August though. There was some pre-recorded information that he played when we were getting close to the attractions. He also added some ad-hoc information when we passed by important sites.
