   Spoleto

   To reach our first village in Umbria, we'll go on a scenic drive through the countryside lasting about one hour and forty-five minutes. Spoleto is a pretty hilltop village that delights visitors with its artistic and architectural heritage. The Umbri tribes native to these parts built settlements here way back in the 5th Century BCE. The town today is rich with a diversity of landmarks, which include: - Rocca Albornoziana, a 14th Century fortress - Ponte delle Torri, a 750-foot-long Medieval aqueduct - A restored Roman theatre from the 1st Century BCE Spoleto's annual Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of Two Worlds) celebrates a fusion of international art, music, and culture, attracting internationally renowned artists and performers. With its charming cobblestone streets, inviting piazzas, and Medieval architecture, Spoleto offers visitors an enchanting blend of tradition and modernity.

   Montefalco

   After a 20-minute drive from Spoleto, we'll arrive in Montefalco, "The Balcony of Umbria". Not only does Montefalco enjoy a panoramic spot with spectacular views of the surrounding valleys, but it also exudes timeless beauty. Walk the winding streets lined and take in the Medieval atmosphere, punctuated by bursts of color from potted plants and cheery flowers. Art and wine lovers will want to make note of the cycle of frescoes by Benozzo Gozzoli, as well as the region's Sagrantino wine that is gaining acclaim on the world stage.    Bevagna

   After a short drive (about 10 minutes) from Montefalco, we'll arrive in Bevagna. Bevagna is a Medieval hamelt that bears the prestigious "borghi più belli d'Italia" (most beautiful villages in Italy) designation. For such a small place, there are lots to see: spare but handsome architecture, Romanesque churches, Roman ruins with mosaic floors, the old public washhouse along the river, and an elegant bridge in red brick sitting on handsome arches. History also abounds in Bevagna. According to legend, St. Frances preached to the birds right outside the village's Medieval walls, which are still standing. A variety of artisan products have been produced here for centuries; namely, silk, beeswax candles, and handmade paper crafted from hemp. After a 2-hour scenic drive through the countryside, we'll be back in Rome where you'll be dropped at your door. Kindly note that the time spent in each village on our itinerary is flexible.
