"Chopin & Italian Friends" Piano Concert in Rome

TL;DR: The pianist Roberto cannot play in tempo and butchered the repertoire. Completely unrecommended. We expected a beautiful blend of Chopin and Italian pieces, but this concert was a trainwreck. While his opening piece was acceptable, everything else was horrific. He butchered the programme, from the Rossini arrangement, Clair de lune, and Rhapsody in Blue to Chopin's Ballade Op. 23 and Fantaisie Impromptu. His Chopin pieces were worse than an amateur student's performance. The Scherzo No. 2 was the worst butchering of all; he skipped entire notes and played it in one continuous flow without separating the musical passages. He rushed at an absurd speed, hit countless wrong notes, and it seems he didn't even listen to his own playing. He ignored the tempo, rests, and musicality, as if desperate to just get the notes out and flee. He has no business performing for a paying crowd. It was a wasted hour and genuine ear trauma. We demand a refund. Steer clear.

We arrived at our concert location only to find out it had been cancelled earlier; possibly a day or more before. We were not informed. And we had organized our evening, including taxi transportation (at a cost) and dinner reservations around this event. I understand things change and/or get cancelled. But the fact that we were never notified, and now it has been 5 days and we have yet to be credited, is more than disappointing. I will never use Get my Guide for any future tour or travel plans. They blew it! And have not done anything to rectify it!! Boooooo!!!
