   The tour starts from Piazza della Libertà, a historic meeting point in the heart of Spoleto, where the elegant Palazzo Ancaiani, the seventeenth-century residence of the homonymous family, is located. From the square you can admire the Roman Theatre, built in the first century BC.C., one of the most significant evidences of ancient Spoletium. From here the walk leads into the historic center, following the ancient route of the Via Flaminia, the consular road that contributed to the development of the city in Roman times. Along the way you will encounter two extraordinary monuments of antiquity: the Arch of Monterone and the magnificent Arch of Drusus and Germanicus, one of the best preserved monumental accesses of the ancient Roman forum. Next to the arch stands the ancient Roman temple, transformed over the centuries into the Church of Sant'Ansano, testimony of the encounter between the classical world and the Christian tradition.

   Ponte delle Torri

   Among the most spectacular stops of the tour stands the famous Ponte delle Torri, one of the most iconic symbols of Spoleto. This impressive structure, which connects Colle Sant'Elia to Monteluco, blends perfectly into the natural landscape, offering one of the most suggestive panoramic views of the entire city. Used in the past as a pedestrian crossing and aqueduct, the bridge is a masterpiece of engineering that continues to amaze with its grandeur and its harmony with the surrounding environment. From this privileged point the view also opens to the majestic Rocca Albornoziana, the papal fortress built in the fourteenth century overlooking Spoleto from the top of the hill. With its strategic position and its unmistakable Listing, the Rocca tells centuries of history and offers an extraordinary view of the Umbrian Valley, completing one of the most memorable experiences of the guided tour.

   Duomo di Spoleto

   The tour continues to one of the most scenic squares in Umbria: Piazza del Duomo, a place of extraordinary beauty framed by elegant historic buildings and dominated by the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. Begun in the 12th century, the cathedral is one of the masterpieces of Umbrian religious architecture, where Romanesque elements and Renaissance details tell centuries of history, art and spirituality. Inside, visitors can admire precious works of art, including the frescoes by Pinturicchio, which embellish the rooms with their colors and refinement. Outside, the splendid facade and elegant bell tower, framed by the monumental staircase of the square, offer one of the most iconic and photographed views of Spoleto, the perfect conclusion of a journey to discover the city.
