   The Consular Gate is the main monumental entrance to the historic center of Spello and one of the most representative symbols of the ancient Roman city of Hispellum. Built in the first century BC.C., this imposing gate, flanked by its characteristic medieval towers, testifies to the continuity between the Roman heritage and the urban development of the village in the following centuries. Crossing the Consular Door means crossing the threshold of one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. From here comes to life a path through stone alleys, elegant squares and flowery views that tell more than two thousand years of history. Looking at the large blocks of travertine and the ancient inscriptions still visible, it is possible to imagine the importance of this access along the roads that connected Spello to the rest of the Roman Empire, making it still one of the most fascinating stops of the guided tour.

   Torri di Properzio e Porta Venere

   Continuing the walk through the streets and squares of the historic center of Spello, you reach the Collegiate Church of San Lorenzo, a place that contains centuries of history and testifies to the artistic and architectural evolution of the city. The building still preserves traces of the different eras that characterized it, offering visitors a privileged look at the religious and cultural heritage of Spello. The route continues through picturesque alleys, stone views and corners decorated with the characteristic flowers that make the village famous throughout Italy.    In the heart of the historic center of Spello there is a charming and less known corner: the loggia of Palazzo Urbani. Far from the most crowded paths, this intimate space preserves a fascinating interweaving of architectural elements belonging to different eras, testimony of the transformations that have accompanied the history of the village over the centuries. Between arches, irregular openings and overlapping structures, the loggia tells the evolution of Spello through time, offering an authentic glimpse into the life and architecture of the past. The particular shape of the space creates an intimate and suggestive atmosphere, where the gaze opens towards the sky framed by the ancient walls, giving visitors a moment of tranquility and beauty during the walk to discover the village.

   Chiesa di Sant'Andrea

   Along the main street of Spello you will find the Church of Sant'Andrea, an important testimony of the Franciscan presence in the village and a place of great historical and artistic value. The building preserves elements of its Romanesque origin, harmoniously integrated with the interventions carried out in the following centuries, which tell the architectural evolution. Inside the church there are precious works of art, including the splendid panel painted by Pinturicchio at the beginning of the sixteenth century, a masterpiece that testifies to the role of Spello as an important cultural and artistic center of the Umbrian Renaissance. In the apse, behind the high altar, a wooden crucifix attributed to the Giotto school further enriches the environment, creating a suggestive encounter between spirituality and art.
