Rome: Borghese Gallery Guided Small Group Tour - Skip the Line

Our Galleria Borghese Guided Tour was a great disappointment. We felt that the guide badly managed our two hours in the gallery, allowed us to see only a handful of selected exhibits and totally ignored the rest of the collection. Moreover, there were inaccuracies and glaring omissions in the guide's comments and descriptions; a thoroughly frustrating experience and a great shame - the Galleria Borghese is such a great place! It was poor value for money and a waste of valuable time.

Our train from the airport was cancelled so I called the company 45 min before tour start saying we'd be late by 10 min. Agent said she'd contact the tour guide & get back to me in a few min. Never did. I called back - talked to someone else - who said they'd send me an itinerary so I could try to catch up with the group inside the museum - they sent it about an hour later. They did leave my ticket so I could get in - but never made any effort to connect me with the tour guide - they said she would be holding up a flag. I went in (we were only 5 min late for the entry) and found no one with a flag with tour company name on it. Agent never said the guide's name, man or woman, what they were wearing - agent never contacted the guide. We could have easily caught up with the group with the correct info - but there were several groups inside and I had no idea which one was mine. Co. also said they would not connect me with the guide for the guide's safety?? So no tour :(

We had a great experience and tour. Our guide Iman was very knowledgable, he interacted and bonded with all members of the group and made us feel comfortable enough to chat and ask questions. He made sure we had time to look at all the exhibits, while remaining respectful towards other guides and guests. Overall we loved the tour and the Galleria and would definitely recommend it!

Marco was a knowledgeable guide. Aside from describing the artwork and technical aspects of the piece, Marco provided the backdrop behind the artists’ artwork. He set the scene by explaining the politics and intrigue behind the commissioned artwork, which gave some context as to what could’ve influenced and/or inspired the artist’s execution of the piece. Thank you Marco, I only wish there was more time to explore all the other pieces of art in gallery.
