Sorrento: Full-Day Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius Tour

Pompeii was amazing! Make sure you are agile and can walk on 2000 year old streets and large steps and keep pace with the group. Mount Vesuvius was self paced, pretty steep about 1 hour round trip with stops for catching your breath and taking photos. skip Vesuvio if this hike is not for you. Seeing the crater, getting some great physical activity, worth it, not to be missed if you enjoy this kind of trek for the experience and "we did it" reward feeling.

met at tazzo square then walked to the bus station 4 mins walk. It was a big coach too big for the square. 3 min walk to the port marina entrance from where the bus parked. Your was interesting with a good guide, try not to loose them too far around the corners as the earpiece signal can get lost. Take walking footwear it's very uneven. The tour has a section reserved in an eatery and for 18 euro there is a simple 2 course lunch in foro vivo eatery. Then on to vesuvius drove 3/4 the up and then a steep path made out of loose pummice to the top. A warning for some people. there is only 1 bench if you need a sit down, apart from some in the 3 shops up there. Great views from the top. chose this trip as it did Pompeii early before it got too hot and vesuvius was cooler up there in the afternoon. had a great trip

Really great experience at Pompei and climbing Mt Vesuvius. The guide managed to navigate us around the ancient ruins very well to avoid crowds and giving everyone enough time to see the exhibits. Kept the pace up pretty well so we managed to see the highlights and time for lunch and trek up Vesuvius. Well worth the money versus organising your own transport and self guiding.

We enjoyed our entire day. Having an archeologist tour guide was worth the price. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She took us to sites other people did not have access to. We spent over two full hours exploring Pompeii. Would not have realized that since the time flew by. And we were there in the middle of a 98 degree day! It was an incredible two hours of historic wonder! Hiking Mt. Vesuvius was well worth the views. Breath taking views of the coastline and cities. Would highly recommend this tour.

This tour was very good - our tour guide on the bus was fun - and very informative as we rode from Sorrento to Pompeii explaining about the Naples/Pompeii area. He was thoughtful about making sure we were all comfortable and safe for the day with our Pompeii visit and Vesuvius summit climb. The tour guide at Pompeii shared a lot of detail which brought the place to life. The Vesuvius summit hike was frightening (height wise) for me - steep winding drive up on the bus to the base of the summit (but the coach bus driver took it very slow) and a somewhat steep 1 mile walking path to the summit. The path was user friendly - and other people seemed unaffected by being so high up. People dressed in all ways for this hike - sneakers with good traction seem best - the trail is loose sand/gravel.

Such a fun tour! Our guide, Lulu, for Pompeii was amazing, super knowledgeable and fun. Kept the whole group together and did really well in the August heat. Nello our guide was the best! Kept the bus ride entertaining and a lot of knowledge shared. Loved it! And to our incredible bus driver Luigi! Tight turns, streets and other drives is no problem! Amazing skills Incredible tour and highly recommend!
