Mount Vesuvius Round-Trip Visit with Ticket from Naples or Pompeii

Journey smooth but started 20 minutes late. On arrival at Vesuvius told when bus will leave to go back. I didn't take a note of it ( my bad) so once I'd returned from the summit I was a little nervous! Especially, as it turned out, I had over an hour wait for the return bus. Apart from gift shops ( overpriced) and food/ drink options there was little else to do. Think the trip could be shortened by at least 30 minutes with little or no impact. However, I don't want to minimise that this was a good experience overall. The walk to the summit from the drop off point was taxing, but not overly so (I'm a 66yo who takes relatively little exercise) and takes around 30 minutes and the views certainly reward your effort.

Pick up was late , after us being told to get there 10 minutes early. The minibus was fine, the driver was nice but was only giving us any information in Italian not English. Great time hiking up to the top of the volcano and seeing the wonderful views. We were expecting a wine tasting on the way back as mentioned in the description. This didn’t happen and after only being out for 3 hours not 4 ,we were dropped back to our pick up area. Not worth £70. We basically paid £48 for a taxi.
