Step into a potter's workshop in Sciacca and shape clay using traditional techniques rooted in local heritage. Guided by an expert artisan, you will create, decorate, and glaze your own ceramic piece. Enjoy food and refreshments while immersing yourself in centuries of craftsmanship.

Welcome to the workshop and meeting with a ceramic artisan from Sciacca
Story of the artisan's life, the workshop, and the local pottery tradition
Introduction to the materials and their characteristics
Creation of your artifact on the wheel or using manual techniques
Decoration and glazing of a previously fired ceramic object
Use of the traditional colors of Sciacca pottery
Materials and tools needed for the experience
Shipping of the product after firing
Transportation to and from the workshop
Food and refreshments
Accompaniment and foreign language interpreting service (available upon request at an additional cost)

Before you go

Good to know

The experience takes place in authentic artisan workshops in Sciacca: small spaces for daily work, where the potters actually create their pieces. Precisely for this reason, the spaces may have limited capacity.
For larger groups, participants can be divided between several artisan workshops or, on request and subject to availability, the experience can be arranged in a dedicated location.
No prior pottery-making experience is required.
During the workshop, you will make a clay artifact and decorate a pre-fired ceramic object.
The molded piece requires natural drying and firing times and cannot be delivered at the end of the experience. It can be picked up later or shipped to the address provided by the guest. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the guest and are not included in the price of the experience.
