Discover Bolzano: History & Nature with Wine Tasting at Thurnhof

We had a great, small-group experience. I’ve visited small family wineries but none quite as intimate and “in the family” as Thurnhof. We enjoyed learning some great history of the Bozen and Bolzano area while on a lovely uphill walk along the vineyard and garden (with ample stops to rest and listen) and then enjoyed the wine, which was delightful, alongside homemade olive oil.

Loved this tour with Judith. She was very welcoming and full of knowledge on the history of the vineyard and surrounding areas. She did a great job at having to translate everything to English as there was a mix of German and English speaking people on the tour. The wine tasting was great and the olive oil was delicious on the bread. Judith was very generous with the wine tasting and was not in a rush to finish the tour. Very accommodating! Thanks you!

This is an ok activity, but it should not be labeled as a “tour” - it is a wine testing with a brief step into the the farm. The host tried giving the explanations in English and German simultaneously, which basically resulted with half of the group just standing by while the other half was engaged. The farm and a wine yard are very cute, but there is nothing to see there. Six wines were provided for testing, and the wine was not bad, but hardly worth carrying back.

This tour was unlike anything I’ve experienced before in the best way possible! Judith was an incredible host and tour guide, and was extremely knowledgeable about her town’s history, her vineyard, and the products her family produces. She was not only warm hearted and welcoming, but also extremely funny and took great care of my friends and I. She did a great job translating for us and being accommodating as we only speak English. I would highly recommend anyone to visit the Thurnhof residence and Judith!!
