Palermo: Limoncello Workshop & Sicilian BBQ with Tasting

What an excellent way to spend an evening experiencing a slice of life in Palermo Sicily! What an amazing privilege to have been invited to explore such a beautiful farm, with spectacular views, to pick our own lemons, and learn how to make limoncello!! We were served a 4 course delicious traditional Sicilian meal!! All cooked by Roberto’s charming and beautiful Mother. If you are looking for a intimate authentic experience while in Palermo Sicily this is your chance!!

We had an amazing time with Roberto and his family. His communication was great before the activity and he gave us the option to delay till the afternoon to avoid the heat. The opportunity to experience another side of Sicilian life with someone who is so passionate about his family, lifestyle and culture was refreshing to experience. The food was amazing and plentiful, the Limoncello was heavenly and we were not rushed to finish. A beautiful evening spent on the terrace, enjoying everything Sicilian

Wij hebben enorm genoten van deze unieke en leuke ervaring! Roberto en zijn familie zijn ontzettend gepassioneerd en laten je graag alles zien, van de dieren tot de citroenen en pompoenen die op het erf groeien. Alles straalt hun liefde en passie voor wat ze doen uit. Na een leuke rondleiding over het terrein begonnen we met het maken van limoncello. Een ontzettend leuk proces waarbij je zelf de citroenen plukt en van dichtbij meemaakt hoe de limoncello wordt gemaakt. Uiteraard blijft het recept geheim 😉 Na de workshop genoten we van een heerlijk diner met verschillende gangen. Alles was vers, smaakvol en met veel liefde bereid. Het was een fantastische en authentieke ervaring die wij iedereen van harte kunnen aanraden! We deelden de ervaring met een ander koppel, met wie we een ontzettend gezellige avond hebben gehad. Tip: neem wat antimuggenspray mee. Omdat je midden in de natuur bent, zijn er wat meer muggen.

This activity was definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Palermo! Everything was perfectly organized, including pick-up from the meeting point, so we could fully relax and enjoy the evening without worrying about having one glass of limoncello too many. Roberto and his family were incredibly welcoming, hosting us at his parents’ beautiful home just outside Palermo, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. We were warmly greeted by their two amazing dogs, who were just as happy to welcome us! The group was the perfect size, 9 people from different countries, which made the experience feel personal and created a wonderful atmosphere. We started by harvesting tomatoes from the garden for dinner and picking fresh lemons to make our own limoncello. Of course, we had to taste a couple of glasses first! We then enjoyed an amazing three-course dinner followed by dessert, all in the beautiful setting of a traditional Sicilian home. A warm, authentic and truly memorable experie

We had the best time, a highlight of our visit to Sicily. Roberto and his Mum were so warm and welcoming. We spent time with their animals, in their garden and in their home. The 4 course meal they served was as good as any restaurant we have been to in Sicily. Even better knowing a lot of what they served is from their own garden, some of it we had literally just picked. Oh and the limoncello, the reason we were there… we now know how to make it now! Just as delicious as the lemon granita they also made for us. Highly recommend.

My husband and I booked a tour to learn how to make Limoncello from scratch, but we got so much more. We were picked up in Palermo and driven to the beautiful country estate belonging to Roberto and his mother, located just ten minutes outside the city. We had the chance to greet, pet, and feed their many animals. With Roberto as a fantastic host, we were given a tour among fig trees, tomato plants, and the lemon trees, where we picked the lemons we would later use for our Limoncello. Back at the beautiful house, we were treated to everything our hearts desired while preparing our own Limoncello. Afterwards, we were served a fantastic meal prepared by Roberto and his mother; we enjoyed it as the sun set, making the view of the mountain landscape look even more stunning. Bring a hearty appetite, because there is plenty of food, and it tastes absolutely amazing. If we could give more than five stars, we would. This was, without a doubt the best holiday experience we’ve had in a long time

We had a lovely day with Roberto and his gorgeous fsmily. It was a really nice change of scene and pace from the city! They collected us and drove us to their hillside home, which had wonderful views. We each had a glass of limoncello then went on a walk to meet their farm animals, including a horse & goats, and to pick fresh tomatoes and lemons. We made a batch of limoncello, then had a huge BBQ lunch - so much so that we took some of the delicious food back to our apartment and had it later, for dinner. A charming day!

Absolutely brilliant! 10/10. Roberto and his family are so welcoming and personable and they truly made this a magical and memorable experience. We were introduced to all of the animals, picked lemons and tomatoes and then arrived back to the beautiful veranda (overlooking the mountains) for an absolute feast! The food and drinks were outstanding- truly delicious. The colours, choices and tastes of Sicily left us so full and satisfied. Do not hesitate to book this experience!

Roberto and his mum were amazing hosts! We couldn’t have asked for a more insightful yet chilled day on their farm, surround by the beautiful Sicilian countryside. They were gracious hosts, providing plenty of refreshments and a plentiful lunch. Roberto was very knowledgeable and we even got to meet the goats and try our hand at catching lizards. A naturally slow-paced day that’s great for relaxing.

Imagine a day in the countryside, where multiple generations of a family live and share their love for their home, culture, food, and farming. I took my 9-year-old son to experience something beyond the tourist attractions everyone knows about. Roberto greeted us and brought us to his family home, where Daniella was waiting for us with a smile and two of their most welcoming dogs! We went on a tour of their farm to see their Girgentana goats and all the produce they grow for an amazing farm-to-table experience. My 9-year-old ran all over the place, exploring and having a fun time. The lunch, of course, was superb. Sitting on their terrazzo, tasting local dishes, and relaxing with a glass of wine is the best way to finish the experience. The family is genuine and authentic, which was one of the reasons we would do this experience again. We felt like we made friends by the ends of the tour.

We had a fantastic time, Roberto and his Mom treated us like royalty. The tour of the Farm/property was very enjoyable, meeting the horses, goats, sheep and the dogs “especially Willie” The Appetizer’s, Pasta, Chicken, Pork and Sausage were incredible, as well as the Lemon cake and fruit for dessert. Wir wurden von Roberto, seiner Familie und den beiden Hunden sehr herzlich empfangen. Der Rundgang durch die Gemüse- und Obstgärten, sowie das Pflücken der verschiedenen Zitronen wurde von wildem Fenchel am Wegesrand begleitet. Die wunderschöne Landschaft und Ruhe waren eine willkommene Abwechslung nach dem lauten Palermo. Das Herstellen des Limoncello toppte noch eine unvergleichlich gute Kostprobe. Nach einem sehr guten Essen, das eine tolle Speise der nächsten folgen ließ, wurden wir noch mit einem vorher selbst gemachten Limonenkuchen bedacht. Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis, jedem zu empfehlen.
