About Matera
Matera's museums and cave heritage are carved straight into the tufa rock, and booking with free cancellation lets you plan around weather, trains, or a change of heart. The Matera: Guided Tour of the Ancient Underground City & Cave Houses is the standout way to understand the Sassi from below, while the Matera: Tufa Stone Carving Workshop with a Local Craftsman turns the city's stone into a hands-on craft session you can cancel without penalty.

Frequently asked questions
Free cancellation means you can reserve a spot at Matera's cave houses, underground sites, and craft workshops without committing to a fixed date. If rain floods your plans or your travel schedule shifts, you cancel at no cost. It is especially useful for the Sassi, where guided entry and small-group workshops fill up quickly.
