Ganztägige Tour ab Catania: Syrakus, Ortigia & Marzamemi

Unfortunately we didn’t get to do this tour. Instead we went to: Siracusa (archaeological site only), Ortigia and Noto. Got a message from the tour company the day before saying they couldn’t offer it that day . They gave us two other itineraries to choose from. Both included Noto, which was included in a tour we’d booked for the following day so we’re going to see it twice. I saw that the cost of the tour they were offering instead was much less than the one we booked. They did give us $15eu each back (about $50 cdn) but the it didn’t nearly cover what we paid ($170 cdn ea vs $107 cdn ea). As for the tour we took, I’d skip the Siracusa archeological park. It wasn’t very interesting and it was confusing getting around. Ortigia was beautiful! We had 3hrs there and took an e-bike shuttle ride around the island with Nicholas. Very knowledgeable about the history. We had 1 hr in Noto. Barely enough to walk the Main Street but another beautiful city but we’re back there today.

Ich hatte zunächst eine andere Route gebucht, die dann nicht stattfinden konnte, weil zu wenig TN. Man rief mich rechtzeitig mehrfach an, um eine Alternative Lösung zu finden. Das war super. Die Tour selbst allerdings war katastrophal organisiert. Erst kam der Fahrer zu spät, dann haben wir statt der zuvor angegebenen zwei Stunden Aufenthalt in Syrakus nur etwas über eine Stunde Zeit bekommen, was natürlich deutlich zu wenig war. Da ich umgebucht wurde, bin ich in eine Gruppe mit italienisch und spanisch sprechenden Menschen gekommen. Der Fahrer konnte praktisch kein englisch. Glücklicherweise gab es Mitfahrende, die hier und da für mich übersetzten. Fazit: diese Tour braucht definitiv neben Fahrer auch Guides in den richtigen Sprachen. Schade. Die Besuchsorte hätte ich gern besser genossen.
