Skip-the-Line-Ticket für die Vatikanischen Museen und die Sixtinische Kapelle

Truthfully, I have been to the Vatican at least 20 times in the last 30 years. The Vatican needs to get itself together. This time, they let in at least 150 to 200 people in the Sistine Chapel. It was horrible!! When I first began visiting the Sistine Chapel, no more than 30 people were allowed in at a time. It was pleasurable to look around and lift our eyes to the ceiling and view the wonder of it all. Now, it was so loud, people shoving one another and not having the slightest idea what they were looking at, it was total misery!! I had my grandson with me for his first visit. It was a total disaster!! GYG can’t control what the Vatican does - I understand that - but send them this message and maybe they will fix it! It’s a mess!!

Told to enter 15 minutes before entry time but guard told us to return to back of a very long line despite buying tickets online a week in advance. We had small children with us. Another guard felt sympathy and let us in. Inside is NOT air conditioned for the most part so if it’s a hot day outside, may want to reconsider attendance. Once inside, you move with the very large crowds fairly briskly. No time to stop and study along the way. Can’t sit and wonder at it all. But still an impressive collection of artifacts from thousands of years ago.

We didn’t realise it was just an entrance ticket, however, we were given the opportunity to have a guided tour with Enza the Broccoli lady. She had exceptional knowledge & really made the experience more complete than if we had been alone. She has a fun sense of humour & kept us all engaged in the fabulous paintings & art. Thank you from Australian Cate & Italian/English Caro.

Was quite expensive especially with not having a guide however I did go during Easter so think it was more expensive than normal. The museum and chapel were beautiful and would highly recommend going. Very large tho and took along time to get through with a lot of walking which might not be suitable for everyone. Would probs be more helpful with a guide as didn’t know what a lot of it was but was still lovely to look at. The queues are very long even with a ticket but it does move fast and is well organised
