Tour VIP Pompei ed Ercolano da Napoli con Pranzo: Un Viaggio nel Tempo

This tour was vastly overpriced for what we received. The guide that met us at port was not informative. She also did not have the authority to switch gears based on our requests. We paid a premium and expected an air conditioned, comfortable van. Instead we received an unairconditioned van that was literally falling apart (I have pictures) that was lacking a suspension system. Three of the 9 of us were using barf bags due to the extremely rough ride and coupled with the heat - it was unbearable. The tour guide at Pompeii, Maria, was exceptionally good. We decided not to go to Herculaneum and ended early because of the heat and the extreme activity of this tour. Do NOT purchase this tour unless you are in excellent shape. My in-laws (80 and 85 years old) could not handle it. Neither could my daughter in law...it was a really rough and unenjoyable day.

Great day. Transport straight from our hotel, with a wonderful driver. Our guide was funny and very informative and ensured everyone was safe/happy. The tour itself was worth every penny, both sites were a fabulous experiance with fantastic, knowledgable and english speaking site guides. We got to see lots more than I thought we would and had a really great day. 100% recommend.

Pompeii and Herculaneum were incredible! Serena and our driver Tommy were amazing in organising this tour for us, everything ran incredibly smoothly, lunch was lovely (gluten free catered for) and our guide was so incredibly knowledgeable. The small group size prevented us from waiting in any lines and really allowed for us to ask any questions that we had going along on the tour. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum. The guide seemed to have us back from our tour of Pompeii 40 minutes early. It would have been good if you could have spent that time exploring the ruins more for ourselves rather than hanging around outside the restaurant waiting for our time slot. The lunch was produced on a massive scale. It was satisfactory. In total we had 4 different guides that we should of been tipping. Makes for an expensive day out when we had already paid a decent amount upfront. However on the whole I recommend having a guided tour to get the most out of the experience. It was hot and the guides did their best to find shade whilst explaining things. We started with a small group of 7 which was great but seemed to team up with another group for lunch and Herculaneum. Not much time given by the guide at Herculaneum to take photos. He was pushy and kept rushing everyone.
