Before you go

Good to know

Take a train from Milan or any station in Lombardy by taking a train to Laveno Mombello Lago. From there, it is a 5-minute walk to the ferry landing. Your ticket includes free navigation on Lake Maggiore between Laveno and Isola Superiore. To visit the Villa Taranto Botanical Gardens, disembark at the Pallanza stop; the entrance is just a short walk away. After your visit, take the ferry back to Laveno to catch your return train to Milan. This all-in-one ticket covers all transport and garden entry for a seamless day trip.
Travel from Milan or any station in Lombardy by reaching a station on the RE1 Laveno-Varese-Saronno-Milano line. Take any train toward Laveno Mombello Lago. For example, the journey from Milano Cadorna takes approximately 1 hour and 58 minutes.
