Ancient Rome and Colosseum Tour with Optional Underground Access

If you really care about seeing the underground parts of the Colosseum, this is a semi-decent way of getting legitimate tickets for underground access. But it has to be said that the ticket price is a colossal (!) mark-up on the very same 24 Euro tickets that you could buy from the Colosseum website, had they not for the most part been bought up by professional guides and tour companies like this one. So you should be aware that you are not buying anything extra other than the regular Colosseum full experience with underground tickets, and it will be guided by one of the Colosseum guides, not by Tours of Rome - their role is simply to hand over the tickets and point you inside. That said, the Colosseum guides are excellent, it is an unforgettable experience, the tickets were legitimate and the instructions on how to get inside were very clear. If you have been struggling to get tickets and have a limited time in Rome, you may well decide that you're happy paying the mark-up.

Absolutely terrible, my husband & I got separated from the group & our 12 year old at the start of the tour. the guide didn’t notice until she went up to her & said she didn’t see her parents. Then the guide sent her alone to “go find your parents and meet us back.” When my daughter didn’t see us, she went back to where the group was and they already moved on. She found a worker and had to stay with her until my husband & I could locate her. Which took an hour- it was absolutely terrifying. We had no phone reception. It was extremely busy & we couldn’t hear the guide & the earphones kept cutting out, so apparently she said go past the stairs & make a left, but we we heard stairs & left so we went up. Hence the separation. People got between us & our daughter while we were tending to our 7yr old. the guide didn’t have a flag like every other one, so I didn’t see her turn. I asked the tour co to give us vouchers to rebook the tour since we missed the whole thing, but they refused.

The tour is fine, the visit is impressive. The premium on official tickets is outrageous. Once at rendez-vous point you're given a ticket by the supposed guide who tells you how to go through the gates so you can meet your official guide (they don't want to waste one of their tickets to actually walk you through your official meeting point). €150 for a €24 ticket is just a rip off, but that's the price for not being able to purchase tickets through the official website as tickets sell within seconds of opening 30 days in advance.

El tour ha sido estupendo, la guía fue muy amable. La experiencia en general me encantó. Lo único que tengo que decir es que es demasiado costoso. Si uno se organiza con tiempo y compra las taquillas con al menos 1 mes de anticipación pudiese pagar 24 € aprox. En mi opinión, es demasiado pagar 150 € en comparación y deberían bajar el precio.
