Naples: Pompeii, Herculaneum & Vesuvius Tour by Minivan with Skip-the-Line Tickets

A scam!! Luxury van !!! What a joke !! The van was in very poor condition — we could hear the struggles of the mechanics: air conditioning, bearings, brakes… Guide service: which guide? Only a driver who just dropped us without any explanations: no commentary, no stories, no explanations, no advice ... We understand that an official tour guide was not included, but the tour description specifically mentions: “Throughout the journey to and from each site, enjoy live commentary from your driver and discover the stories and anecdotes of these three most visited locations in the region.”This did not happen at all. Even not any recommandation about where to buy some lunch . He told us that we could find something in Herculanum where there was only a distributor!! What is the interest to pay an extra cost for a smaller group if there are no comments at all !! Misleading information!! We clearly expect some commercial gesture in order to continue trusting GYG , that trust being shaken

Our trip was perfect. The perfect amount of time for each location. Be warned that Pompeii is huge and if you’re really invested in seeing Pompeii, this might not be the trip for you. You have good time to hit the big sites but 2 hours for Pompeii is so short to really experience the vastness of the historical site. ALSO make sure you bring your ID. We didn’t and it caused a stir at the ticket counter. We had to go to a special window to show our credit cards as IDs.

Emilio did a good job as the driver. However there were a number of problems with the local agency. Our tickets to Pompei did not work and I had to repurchase them at the gate. I asked Emilio about being reimbursed for the extra monies we paid and he said I needed to call Yelena but she didn’t answer her phone after he left. Also the local office at Pompei who worked with the local agency recommended one of their guides however they got delayed and we were only given 1-1/2 hours when we were supposed to get two. I will not be recommending or taking anymore tours with your company.

Tour was not as advertised. Supposed to be air conditioned Mercedes V class. Was a over crowded Peugeot taxi with no seat belts (except front) driven Napoli style on mountain roads. Different passengers were on different tours. We had entry tickets for 3 venues. All others had 2 tickets. Asked to be contacted via email. All queries sent by email were completely ignored. Tried to phone but only got Italian voicemail which I could not understand. But tour advertised as English speaking. Only contact was message via WhatsApp chat. NO QUERIES WERE ANSWERED BY ANY MEANS. We took several GetYourGuide tours in Portugal last year that were first rate. Napoli Official Tour is not even second rate. Avoid them. Next time I will take the bus for less than half the price. What a scam!

Wonderful sights with very jolly driver however at Pompeii they did drop us in a tourist trap where they tried to sell us audio guides for more than the entrance. Luckily we all looked at each other and agreed this seems a bit odd so didn’t buy them… after refusing the audio guide they wanted to sell us a map which they scribbled on… after we also rejected this and the lady at the scam office got in a huff we found a better map was provided on the entrance to Pompeii for free… We could have had a bit more time at each location but I understand that we really pootle along and look at every little crack and crevice and not everyone does. Overall I would recommend this tour just a bit peeved at being dropped in a scam audio guide office at the end.
