   Basilica della Madonna della Ghiara

   Believe it or not, this street was once where the river Crostolo flowed, and it is also where the Ghiara Basilica was built to honor a miracle that occurred at this spot. We will also introduce the "Fotografia Europa" photo festival, which is hosted by the Palazzo Magnani Foundation every spring.

   In this very building, on January 7, 1797, the Cispada Republic was proclaimed, and the first tricolour flag was created. Explore the intriguing history of Italy’s unification at the “Tricolor Museum,” and discover why Reggio Emilia is also known as the city of the Tricolor by visiting the “Sala del Tricolore.”

   This square is a masterpiece of architecture, featuring the basilica of San Prospero, dedicated to the bishop who saved the city from the barbarian invasion.
