Herculaneum Guided Tour with Archaeologist: Priority Entry & Small Groups

The archaeologist was knowledgeable and gave a very vivid account. She really brought the excavation site to life for us. Plus, the group was very small.

We had an incredible time walking through the ruins on Herculaneum. To see the remnants of the city was mind blowing. Our tour guide was fantastic! She was full of knowledge and insight, giving us lots of information and answering questions. Highly recommend!

Our tour guide was the main archaeologist from the 1980's! His name is Luciano, and he was kind and hilarious! Definitely bring a fan, an umbrella and water, it's very hot in summer, if you have time, stay and explore the park some after the tour, the tour just isn't long enough. But it's amazing to hear the facts from the original digs!

Luciano Leone charmed us with his humor and knowledge. He showed us some great photos from a binder, which made the stories even more vivid. It was also fun to hear comparisons with Pompeii, which was a major trading city, while this was a small seaside resort town. 10/10
