Rome: Turning on the Lights at the Vatican Museums

The tour was absolutely amazing. The Rome: Turning the Lights on at the Vatican Museums is a once in a lifetime tour. We were a group of 19, the tour guide, the Key Master, and an assistant to the Key Master. The group was small and intimate and we were afforded the opportunity to take pictures without hundreds of people standing in the photo. I would not tour the Vatican Museums any other way. After the two hour tour and everyone opening a door and windows we were able to shop for souvenirs and had a full American style breakfast. The breakfast was very delicious and included speciality coffees, juices, teas, and still or sparkling water. Highly recommend this tour.

Experiência única e indescritível, a guia e o guardião das chaves são extremamente gentis e muito conhecedores do assunto. Minha única reclamação é que o tour foi feito em dois idiomas, e não me lembro de ter sido avisado no momento da compra. Isso é bom pela acessibilidade, mas faz com que tudo que seja dito pela guia leve o dobro do tempo, pois precisa traduzir. Acaba que nas últimas salas estavamos fazendo quase uma maratona Sei que depois temos acesso ao museu, mas parte da experiência é ter acesso as salas mais importantes vazias, e não correr entre elas sem ver nada. Mas o tour é incrível, assistir as salas se iluminando, abrir as janelas da sala dos mapas, poder sentar no chão da capela sistina e observar com calma, entrar em salas e corredores que ficam fechados... Recomendo 100%

Questa mattina ho vissuto un’esperienza che difficilmente dimenticherò: l’apertura straordinaria alle 6 del mattino dei Musei Vaticani con il Clavigero. Un’atmosfera irreale, quasi sospesa nel tempo, che permette di attraversare spazi iconici come la Cappella Sistina in un silenzio e in una luce completamente diversi dal solito. La guida è stata semplicemente eccezionali : preparata, coinvolgente, capace di dare valore a ogni dettaglio del percorso. Elena, la miglior guida che abbia mai incontrato. Consiglio questa esperienza senza esitazioni, ma soprattutto consiglio lei: è il vero valore aggiunto e, senza dubbio, ciò che rende il tour assolutamente all’altezza (e oltre) del costo del biglietto. Da fare almeno una volta nella vita.

Tour molto suggestivo, davvero interessante. Sarebbe stato ancora più apprezzabile scendere maggiormente nel dettaglio di alcune opere. Purtroppo, al momento della prenotazione, nella descrizione era indicato che il tour si sarebbe svolto in italiano, mentre in realtà è stato condotto interamente in inglese; la guida ha anche specificato che il tour è sempre in inglese. Per me non è stato un problema, ma è un aspetto che andrebbe segnalato con maggiore chiarezza.

O tour foi uma experiência absolutamente memorável. Poder abrir as salas do Vaticano ao amanhecer, acender suas luzes e caminhar em silêncio por corredores que normalmente vivem cheios foi algo ímpar. A magia de ver a Capela Sistina despertar, apenas com nosso pequeno grupo, tornou tudo ainda mais especial. Nossa guia foi impecável, assim como o mestre das chaves que nos conduziu com tanta gentileza. Para completar, o café da manhã ao final estava delicioso e super completo, e ainda tivemos tempo de explorar outras áreas do museu com calma. Uma vivência única!

It was amazing to be able to unlock the doors to the different galleries at the Vatican Museum. I was the lucky member of our small group to unlock the entrance! Walking through the quiet, empty rooms including the Sistine Chapel and seeing the sun come up through the windows was breathtaking! After the tour we had breakfast at a bistro inside the museum area and then were able to visit the museum for as long as we wanted. Totally worth the higher price.

Es de más experiencias más maravillosas que me ha tocado en un viaje. Entrar solos, abrir cada ventana, conocer el Vaticano a oscuras, ver amanecer en Roma, aprender y gozar sin hordas de gente, estar laaaaargo rato a solas en la Capilla Sixtina. Sin palabras. Mi marido, mis hijas y yo lo atesoraremos para siempre. La guía encantadora y con mucho conocimiento. Volvería cada vez que vaya a Roma.

Truly, once in a lifetime experience. The staff were wonderful as they guided us through the museum and then to the Sistine Chapel. Very grateful for the opportunity that I was able to open up the Sistine Chapel for the day. I was a bit concerned I would damage the key but w guidance, I did it! Loved having access to the museums with nobody there and watching with wonder as they open the doors and turn down the lights. This is a must do.
