Tuscany Wines & Lunch: Montepulciano & Montalcino Experience

First, had questions about where the tour was going when. the url was Siena & San Gimi, which I've been to before, they responded correctly, but still left doubts even though the description was correct. Second, not really a "winery" tour, more like visiting a restaurant and the office, although we did see storage. The wine and lunch was good and our guide was young. Enthusiastic, but needs some seasoning so she could bring some historical context for where we're at or going to. most positive was having plenty of free time in each of the places we visited.

Out driver Carlo and our tour guide Leonardo were 5/5 Stars. The wine and tour and lunch was 5/5 stars as well My lower and overall score is for the company itself, advertisers and organizers that did not specify picking up other clients in a different city as part of the itinerary. We had an extra 2 hours added on for this tour for no reason. More than 13 hours was too long.

This trip was a big disappointment. The description fails to mention that when leaving Florence, you stop in Siena to pick up another group. Our tour started with a total three hour commute to the first stop, Montepulciano. The bus was too small for our group, overcrowding made the already unpleasant three hour trip worse. Since we were running behind, we were also rushed at our first stop. The highlight of the trip was the wine tour in Montepulciano, though. The description of Montalcino experience was misleading in our case, as well. I wouldn't hardly call it an experience, we never saw the town. We stopped somewhere near there for a rushed wine tasting to get back on the bus and start the three house trip back, even our guide got off the bus in Siena instead of traveling back to Florence with us, so there was no possibility of additional entertainment/history of the area for the rest of the trip. Would not do this again, wish I had the money spent back, absolutely don't recommend.
