Semi-Private Mount Vesuvius Tour from Sorrento

We arrived at Sorrento train station with no one at the allotted place, after WhatsApp and phone we were given the place to pick up the tickets. Unfortunately the lady was not best pleased and said we were late (1pm) and should have caught the earlier train and would not accept we had followed the instruction and it clearly stated 1pm On arrival at Pompeii station the staff were fab. The driver was amazing both ways. We could have done with a little more time as the hike to the crater is quite long and very up hill hehe

Not very good value for money. If you want to do this trip, would work out cheaper to get your train ticket and separate transfer to Vesuvius and entry to Vesuvius. Had to collect train ticket at Sorrento before journey. On arrival at Pompeii Scavi – instruction was to get further ticket for entry from office on the first floor. Staff there not very helpful or pleasant. Bus took one hour from train station in a very uncomfortable vehicle to start of climb. There was supposed to be a guide when we got to Vesuvius but no details provided of how we met them, as a result we didn’t have a guide. Standing room only on return train journey.

Nous n'avons pas compris en quoi cette visite est "semi-guidée". Un train standard nous a conduit à la gare de Pompéi, de là un car nous a emmenés au sommet du Vésuve. Nous avons marché en totale autonomie jusqu'au cratère, pas de guide ni audio-guide. Nous sommes redescendus, retour à Pompéi avec le même car et retour à Sorrento en train standard. Très cher pour ce que c'est !
