When should we book family activities in Florence?

Book cooking classes and priority-entry museum visits as early as you can, especially for spring and summer, since popular slots fill up and a handful of experiences regularly sell out. Day trips into Chianti also benefit from advance planning.

How do we choose between the family experiences on offer?

Match the format to your children's ages and energy: hands-on cooking for mixed ages, short guided visits for younger kids, and full-day private trips only if your family handles long days well. Check the duration and group size, read recent reviews, and favour options with free cancellation so a tired afternoon does not cost you.

About Florence

Florence rewards families who slow down and get hands-on: dough to knead, gelato to swirl, and a marble David that genuinely stops kids mid-step. Cooking together is the city's great family equaliser, and options like the Florence Pizza Making Class with Unlimited Gelato & Wine or the Family Farm Cooking Class in Chianti with Lunch: Hands-On Traditional Recipes turn a morning into a shared project everyone remembers.

Frequently asked questions

Look for short durations, hands-on formats and small-group or private setups. Pizza and gelato classes work well because children actively make something and eat it, while guided David visits run around an hour and twenty minutes, which suits shorter attention spans. Private day trips let you set the pace and pause when the family needs to.
