When is the best time to book activities in Florence?

Book well ahead for anything with fixed entry times or small group sizes, especially private gallery tours and cooking classes, since these are the experiences most likely to sell out. Should your plans firm up later, free cancellation means an early booking carries little risk, and you can adjust or release it as your trip takes shape.

How do I choose between free cancellation experiences in Florence?

Start with how you want to spend your time: short guided gallery visits suit tight schedules, while half or full days work better for Chianti cooking classes or day trips into the countryside. Compare group size, duration and whether the guide is private or shared, then check the cancellation terms so you know exactly how much notice is required.

Frequently asked questions

Florence's most sought-after entries, such as the Accademia and the Duomo, run on timed slots that sell out, so reserving early is often the only way to secure your preferred time. Free cancellation lets you hold that slot while keeping your plans changeable, which matters if your travel dates, flight or weather look uncertain.
