Our guided tour was amazing. The archaeologist was very knowledgeable and provided interesting anecdotes throughout. With such big crowds it was wonderful that our guide took us to quieter areas, allowing us time to absorb the history that we were walking amongst. He also happily answered questions ensuring our experience was catered to our needs.

It was an excellent tour for getting the basic info about Pompeii and the guide was very knowledgeable. We decided to stay longer to explore and were shocked to find that the best things in Pompeii were not actually on the tour. If we hadn’t stayed beyond the tour we would have missed the best parts, at least in my opinion. So, I recommend taking the tour but then stay longer to see the rest. You won’t regret it.

The tour was very interesting, Pompeii is impressive and really beautiful. Our guide was very knowledgeable and could answer all our questions. The downside is that the duration of the tour is really a bit too short with two hours of time. Three hours would be much better and would make it better value for money. One negative point: the tour organization forgot to supply the microphone and transmitter to the guide and then they brought the wrong part. This costed us 20 minutes waiting time and extra need to rush during the trip. This is core buisiness for them and should not be allowed.

There’s just so much to see and do there. Ricardo was excellent and had so much great knowledge to share. He definitely packed a lot in but i would say less explanation about Latin and Italian translations to fit more of the ruins in would be preferred.

We learned a lot about this amazing archeologoical site and how people used to live there. We can highly recommend the tour. If you are visiting the site in summer, we think its best to book an early morning or late afternoon tour. And to carry some water and sun protection is highly recommended, too ;-)
