Rome: St. Peter's Basilica Guided Tour with Dome Climb & Panoramic Views

Our guide Brigitte was extremely well prepared - she would point out countless features of interest and help our imagination with extra materials she had with her, delivering a stunning experience of the Basilica and answering a lot of our questions. A true passionate, I really think she managed to get even my teenagers interested :))) I strongly recommend to do this tour rather than combining the Basilica entry with the Vatican Museum tour. The museum and the Sistine Chapel are a very taxing experience, you get rushed through the rooms with a crowd of people without any ability to stop and take in the art. The Basilica is much more peaceful in comparison, but I don't think I could comfortably climb the dome without a break in between :)

Our guide Ting was very knowledgeable about all things art history and Saint Peter’s basilica which was wonderful. We booked this tour to skip the lines and climb the Duomo … sadly due to jubilee celebrations neither happened for us. We waited over 45 minutes to enter St Peter’s square and waited again to enter the basilica. Sadly by then we ran out of time to climb the duomo as we had another tour booked later in the evening. We acknowledge this was not under the control of the tour group or our guide but we would have preferred to visit the duomo and have less time in the basilica as we had booked specifically to climb the duomo. This was not accommodated in our tour as the guide did not adjust the tour itinerary to allow for the lengthy wait initially.
