Full-Day Pompeii & Sorrento Tour from Naples: History, Views & Flavors

Good pick up & drop off at pompei, guide inside ruins of pompei had left when we returned to meeting point to leave pompei site. Poor co ordination / instructions/ no guide to meet up after left pompei to instruct in meal option and clear guidance on bus and meeting point to travel onto Sorrento as per our booking . Drivers were good. Experience over good, just poor info and guidance going from one part of our tour to the next etc

I was very disappointed in the amount of time wasted from original drop off from hotel to the time we actually started the tour. Susie the English speaking guide was not engaging during the tour , her accent was hard to understand and generally showed little interest in the information she was providing. After the tour we were rushed to the restaurant for lunch where we enjoyed a good pizza, unfortunately the time spent in Sorrento was very short.

Really appreciated the tour, the only commentI have is the miss communication for the pick up time. When I booked it mentionned 10:00 at the De Bonart Naples even confirmed it on the app. Received an email by you saying I was going to receive an email of confirmation the night before to confirm the pick up time. I did not receive an email the night before, so I sent a WhatsApp message but did not get an answer. The morning of the tour, I challenged again the pick up time via the WhatsApp and received a message at 9:00 in the morning to tell me that the pick up is at 9:30…in 30 minutes. I told them that the pick up is supposed to be at 10:00, they replied it is 9:30 and if you are not there at 9:30, you will miss the tour and there will be no refund. I managed to contact everyone in time but it is bit disappointed to see the lack of communication from the provider.

The tour in Pompeii was with a big group of people including a lady with physical health needs and I personally think she would have benefitted from a 1-1 guide as the poor guide was having to accommodate her needs and this slowed the group down. We had 40 min for lunch before going to Sorrento. We were taken to a large busy restaurant to wait for our flavourless pizza ! We didn’t have a choice of meal. We waited 33 minutes and had 7 min to try and eat then get the transport to Sorrento. This was not relaxing and I would sooner have been given free time to buy my own lunch and sit outside if I had known how poor it would be. Sorrento was stunning and we were there for exactly an hour. A little longer would be nice. Perhaps allow people to have lunch in Sorrento instead. My recommendation would be just to book a bus to each place and have some time to explore at your leisure. The drivers were very good and on time.

VERY disappointed. No where in description was the taxi service our bus provided for others. After pick up at ship we had a 45 minute detour to the train station to pick up more guests. FINALLY at Pompeii approximately 90 minutes after meeting. Pompeii guide was wonderful but tour was too large to stay together and headsets kept cutting off. No souvenir shopping or time for museum. Fast lunch, tasty but no choices. Margarita pizza, soda and water. Met our -10 minute late - private ride to Sorrento and found out we were also taking 3 people to a hotel. Finally we had just enough time to drive to Sorento - nearly 90 minutes- drop off the 3- and we spent 22 minutes wandering on our own(supposed to be a ‘tour’) before rushing back to our ship. Our driver spoke very little English. For the money I would not do this tour again. Description does NOT match reality. All employees very nice though.
